Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in a Congress on the limits to connectivity

Fraternidad-Muprespa was present this Thursday at the II International Congress “Limits to permanent connectivity at work: health and business competitiveness” organized by the Universitat Jaume I, and which takes place on November 2 and 3.

The Doctoral School of the University of Castellón has hosted the event attended on behalf of the Mutua Natalia Fernández Laviada, Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication and Ivan Fernandez Suarez, Prevention consultant of the Oviedo Delegation. Between them they presented the presentation "Leadership and business reputation allied against emerging risks”, which describes these new risks as a result of the emergence of information and communication technologies both at a social and work level but that also have effects on health, so they must be identified in the field of occupational risk prevention.

Likewise, leadership, diversity management, communication and business reputation are highlighted as key elements in the control of emerging risks with a direct impact on the work well-being of people and healthy companies of the 21st century.

Emerging risks 

Iván Fernández focused his intervention on the fact that in order to establish strategies to deal with these risks, firstly one must be able to identify them and secondly, know them in order to control their effects on people. These are some of the most common: 

Regarding those related to the use of technology, he described, among others, the vamping, or process by which time or quality of sleep is lost due to the abuse of electronic devices; the nomophobia (‘no mobile phone phobia’) or feeling of discomfort when you do not have access to a mobile phone; he kummerspeck, the term for binge eating due to an emotional impulse or the text-neck or text neck, the cervical pathology derived from adopting an incorrect posture due to watching a mobile phone or tablet a lot.

He also referred to other elements with a strong impact on health, much better known, such as alcohol and tobacco consumption, obesity or a sedentary lifestyle.
