“Women, business and occupational health”, Fraternidad-Muprespa at the IX Congress of the SESST

Fraternidad-Muprespa participated this Thursday in the IX International Congress of Occupational Health and Risk Prevention, organized by the   Spanish Society of Safety and Health at Work and the Castilian Society of Medicine and Safety at Work, which is held in Madrid between March 23 and 25. The focus of this congress is, according to its title, “Business Humanism and the Digital Age: Advances and New Paradigms of the 21st Century.” 

On behalf of the Mutua, he intervened Natalia Fdez. Laviada, Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication, who during the fourth symposium "Advances and challenges for women in the new era of the 21st century," shared the presentation "Women, business and occupational health." 

In her presentation she described the different types of diversities, pointing out that precisely gender diversities cannot be considered such, with women making up 51% of the planet's population.

Diversity provides added value and competitive advantages, strengthens cultural values, improves business reputation, attracts and retains talent, increases motivation, increases innovation and creativity, avoids conflicts and respects majority ethical and legal codes.

Regarding equality and necessary equity, he referred to a series of measures that companies can incorporate to promote conciliation and co-responsibility such as: temporary flexibility measures (free time banks, compressed work week or time adaptations, among others); spatial flexibility (remote work, virtual offices or videoconference meetings); have figures as agents of equality; unify personnel selection systems including equal opportunity criteria or design positive action measures.

Finally, he reiterated the commitment to Fraternidad-Muprespa with women and their occupational health and safety, remembering the multiple actions developed within the entity to integrate the gender perspective into its policies and actions, such as the signing of the IV Equality Plan.
