Extraordinary Cessation of Activity benefit for seasonal workers

Who can request it?
- Workers who have carried out their “only job” during the months of March to October and have at least remained registered in the special regime for 5 months in said period.
- The working members of the associated work cooperatives who have opted to be classified as self-employed workers, will also have the right to this extraordinary benefit.
With what requirements?
- Have carried out their professional activity as a self-employed person only during the months of March to October (*), both in 2018 and in 2019.
- Have remained registered and contributing to the special regime for at least 5 months between March and October, both in 2018 and in 2019.
- Not having been registered or assimilated to registration in any Social Security scheme as an employee, for more than 120 days between March 1, 2018 and March 1, 2020 (*).
- Not having carried out any activity or having been registered or in a situation similar to registration during the months of March to June 2020.
- Not having received any benefit from the Social Security system during the months of January to June 2020 , unless it was compatible with the exercise of an activity as a self-employed worker.
- Not having obtained income that exceeds €23,275 during 2020 .
- Be up to date with the payment of Social Security contributions . If this requirement is not met, payment will be invited so that the due installments can be received within a non-extendable period of 30 calendar days.
In what amount?
The equivalent of 70% of the minimum contribution base that corresponds to the activity carried out in the RETA.
When to request it and what effects will it have?
It may be requested at any time during the period between the entry into force of the standard and the month of October 2020 and depending on the date on which it is presented, it will have the following effects:
- Effect of June 1, 2020 if requested before July 15.
- From the day after the request.
How long will it be perceived?
Recognition of the benefit will have a maximum duration of 4 months.
How will it affect the price?
During the receipt of the benefit there will be no obligation to contribute , with the worker remaining in a situation of registration or assimilated to registration in the Social Security regime. Contributions for which there is no obligation to contribute will be assumed by the entities that cover the benefit.
When will the benefit end?
On September 30, 2020, unless the withdrawal from the special regime is carried out prior to that date (*).
What will it be incompatible with?
- This benefit will be incompatible with employed work and with any Social Security benefit that the beneficiary has been receiving, unless it is compatible with the performance of the activity as a self-employed worker.
- With self-employment, when the income received during 2020 exceeds €23,275.

Self-employed persons not registered in the Digital Office
Self-employed persons who do not have a Digital Office user may also submit their applications without needing to register. Access without registration has been enabled through which they will be able to access the specific procedure, for which they must complete some basic information, NIF, membership number and date of birth.
